How it is done

1. 10:00Start on hair that has been shampooed, conditioned and deep conditioned.
2. 20:00Press out the roots first with a pressing comb, leaving the ends for the flat iron.
3. 30:56Remember that the back of the pressing comb straightens the hair, not the teeth.
4. 41:44Spray a thermal heat protectant through the hair before flat ironing.
5. 51:44Silk press in sections with a titanium flat iron for sleekness, then follow with a ceramic iron for shine.
6. 62:44Cut a blunt zero-degree bob, then go back and clip the ends throughout for light layers.
7. 73:13Cut off frizzy, damaged ends; they will frizz up quickly if left on.
8. 86:24Mist a smoothing spray to tame flyaways, wrap the hair with a comb, then comb it out so it stays soft.
9. 98:30Finish with a light spray of oil sheen.
