The breakdown

  • Jumbo Twists
  • Center Part
  • Chest Length

How it is done

  1. 10:27Work on washed, blow-dried hair; part a vertical line and section small box-shaped parts off it.
  2. 21:26Apply a braid and twist gel to the section from root to tip to smooth it.
  3. 32:23Split the section in two and place the center of a piece of pre-stretched, feathered-end braiding hair at the root between them.
  4. 43:21Twist each leg (natural hair plus braiding hair) clockwise separately so the extension hooks onto the natural hair.
  5. 53:51Once secure, twist the two legs around each other counterclockwise, applying gel as you go.
  6. 64:19Twist all the way to the very ends; feathered ends keep the twists from unraveling.
  7. 75:14Smooth each finished twist with your hands and a little gel so everything flows in one direction.
  8. 85:44For chunkier twists, use more braiding hair per section, and smooth the natural hair into the extension with a rat tail comb.
  9. 97:53Leave the edges out around the perimeter to keep tension off the hairline.
