The breakdown

  • Long Box Braids
  • Pulled Back
  • Extra Long

How it is done

  1. 10:00Part a section from one side of the head to the other. Then map out how many braids it will hold so every subsection is neat and about the same size.
  2. 20:28Take one subsection and divide it into the three pieces you'll braid with.
  3. 30:57With your right hand, grab the piece furthest to the left and cross the hair left and right. Then add a small piece of braiding hair, just enough that the root doesn't get bulky.
  4. 41:26Keep adding another piece each time you cross over, until the braid is as thick as you want.
  5. 51:54Keep product on your hands or close by, and smooth it along the braid wherever it's needed to keep it neat.
  6. 62:24Use a pomade or edge control on the parts so everything stays neat, then part off the next section and split it into three.
  7. 73:30Add the hair the same way you would for feed-in braids, gripping the root so it lies neat and flat.
  8. 84:00Braid your own hair down once or twice before you add the first piece. Adding hair from the very start makes the roots bulkier.
