How it is done

  1. 10:00Gather pre-looped faux locs in 14, 18, and 22 inch lengths.
  2. 20:32Part a front and back section with a clean middle part in front, then finger-part the rest into rows.
  3. 30:59Starting at the back with 22-inch locs, unravel each loc slightly, split a section into three, add the loc to one strand, and braid down.
  4. 41:28Split one braid strand in two and twist the rest of the way down, which makes takedown easier.
  5. 52:22Install all the locs first and wrap them later, or wrap each one as you go.
  6. 63:10Use 22-inch locs in the back, 18-inch through the middle, and 14-inch at the very front to create layers.
  7. 74:25Unravel the loc and wrap it around the twist in the direction it tightens, tightening as you go.
  8. 84:53When you reach the curly end, move it to the free hand and hold it while you finish wrapping.
  9. 95:43Pull the hair at the top of each loc to fluff it out for volume; on thin edges, attach the loc to two of the three strands.
