The breakdown

  • Copper Afro
  • Rounded Shape
  • Ginger Color

How it is done

  1. 12:09Gather a spray bottle of water, a curl smoothie or styler, a sealing cream, detangling combs and an afro pick.
  2. 22:38Section the hair, starting with the back split into two sections.
  3. 33:09On the tightest sections skip the water. Apply a little styler, focusing on the ends, and finger detangle to remove old braid-out crinkles.
  4. 44:06Comb through with a detangling comb until no curl pattern remains.
  5. 54:37Seal in moisture with a cream and put the section in a loose twist. Repeat on the next section with a little water and product.
  6. 66:33On the front section, use more water so it shrinks up more and matches the back.
  7. 77:34Leave any longer section loose so it shrinks more, so every part ends up the same length for an even shape.
  8. 88:02Mist the roots of all sections with water so they shrink and stand up, then take down the twists.
  9. 98:30Pick and fluff the hair all over, then pat it into a round shape.
