The breakdown

  • Picked Out
  • Chin Length

How it is done

  1. 10:00Have a curl-enhancing cream, a heat-defense leave-in conditioner, a coconut oil, a brush and a blow dryer ready.
  2. 20:29Start with the hair divided into sections. Aim the blow dryer directly at the roots and keep it away from the ends.
  3. 30:29Avoid over-handling or stretching the ends so they keep their natural curl pattern.
  4. 41:28Apply the products mostly to the ends of each section to give them definition.
  5. 51:28While drying, hold the ends of the section in your hand so the heat does not reach them.
  6. 61:57Blow-dry the roots of every section while holding the ends, so the roots stretch and the ends stay defined.
  7. 73:25Once every section is dry, run the dryer all over the hair to fluff it out and blend away the parts.
  8. 83:25Fluff the hair with your fingers, then use a pick to lift each area and build an even, circular shape.
  9. 95:10Put on a bonnet for a short time to condense the hair into a round shape, then take it off.
