The breakdown

  • Long Locs
  • Gold Loc Cuffs
  • Loc Length

How it is done

  1. 10:56Pre-part the whole head into loc sections of the size you want before installing, with help if needed, since the foundation matters most.
  2. 22:21Wash the human-hair loc extensions first: soak them in diluted shampoo for 1 to 2 hours, wash and condition in groups, and air dry overnight.
  3. 33:20Unravel a twisted section, comb it out, and fluff it, leaving the root slightly braided.
  4. 43:48Backcomb the section toward the root until it forms a matted ball, then retwist the root to the right.
  5. 54:15Instant-lock the section with a one-prong crochet needle, rotating the hair while hooking in and out.
  6. 64:43If any spot feels soft, backcomb and crochet again until the loc is solid.
  7. 75:13Align the loose hair at the top of an extension with the end of the natural loc and crochet them together with a two-prong needle.
  8. 85:43Wrap any stray hairs around the loc and crochet them in until everything is intertwined.
  9. 96:11Palm roll the join and tug it to test it; crochet more if it slips.
  10. 106:40Repeat comb-out, backcombing, crocheting, and attaching on every section across the head.
