The breakdown

  • Crochet Curls, Copper
  • Spiral Curls
  • Curly Bob

How it is done

  1. 10:27Wash the crochet hair before installing: a vinegar and shampoo bath for about an hour, then air-dry overnight.
  2. 20:27Part a 1.5-inch leave-out at the front and twist it up out of the way.
  3. 30:58For a 360° look, extend that leave-out all the way around the perimeter of your head.
  4. 41:43Oil the rest and cornrow the middle straight back (six cornrows); plait the ends together and sew them flat.
  5. 52:11Fold each crochet piece at its centre string, slide the hook under a cornrow, load the hair, close the latch, pull it through and tighten.
  6. 63:07Place pieces close together on the braids next to the leave-out for coverage and further apart elsewhere; about three bundles fill a head.
  7. 73:35Release the leave-out, spray with water, work gel through the extensions and your hair, and rake with a detangling brush to curl.
  8. 84:33Apply edge control, brush and shape, then tie a scarf and air-dry (or diffuse).
  9. 96:10Blend tighter leave-out by twisting small pieces of crochet hair in with it, or do a rod set.
