The breakdown

  • Curly Ends
  • Middle Part

How it is done

  1. 10:00Start on washed, detangled, blow-dried hair; have a parting comb, edge brush, shine and jam, edge control and a crochet needle ready.
  2. 20:57You'll use 14-inch and 18-inch crochet locs plus 18-inch passion-twist hair for wrapping.
  3. 31:26Braid all your hair first; jam each part and comb it so the parts on top are perfectly straight.
  4. 43:10Keep each braid tight at the root so the loc doesn't sit loose.
  5. 57:51Carefully split each passion twist in half; one twist wraps two locs.
  6. 69:32Extend each loc to 32 inches: thread the split end of a 14-inch loc through the top loop of an 18-inch loc, double-knot, wrap and rub.
  7. 711:22Push the crochet needle through the root of a braid, hook the loc's loop, pull it through, pass the braid through the loop and pull tight.
  8. 813:43Crochet the passion-twist hair through the root, leaving one end much shorter than the other.
  9. 914:11Wrap about five times around the root, then wrap down the loc; it can be messy for a softer, distressed look.
  10. 1015:18Seal the end with freeze spray, wrap the last bit around and rub between your palms.
  11. 1118:15Lay your edges and part the locs however you like.
